XAT 2015 syllabus is based on the similar pattern and lines as that of other management exams but it covers a vast and wide range of subjects like Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning,English, Maths, General Knowledge and Essay Writing. The XAT 2015 exam will have the following sections:
- Verbal & Logical Reasoning
- Decision Making and Quantitative & Data Interpretation.
- Essay Writing and General Awareness section will be a portion of Part 2 of the paper.
XAT 2015 Syllabus of Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning
Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability section had 30 questions in last year paper. It had 3 Reading Comprehension passages, the topics The other related questions in the English Usage area were on the following:
- Grammar Articles, propositions etc.
- Verbal Reasoning
- Jumbled paragraph
A certain portion also had questions which were based on Critical Reasoning. Inductive and Deductive logic also had questions on them.
Decision Making Syllabus of XAT 2015
The question in this section were from the following categories:
- Decision Making
- Tables and Caselets
- Linear Arrangements
In the last year XAT exam the Decision Making section had 25 questions. The questions were in the form of caselets. Questions of Analytical Reasoning were also a part of this section in the last year paper.
Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation Syllabus for XAT 2015
This particular section had 36 questions last year paper. Out of which 24 questions were related to Quantitative Ability and 12 questions were based on Data Interpretation section. The topics of this section are as follows:
- Charts and diagrams
- Tables and Caselets
- Interest and Growth rates
- Time and Distance
- Number Systems
- Number Theory
- Surds and Indices
- Linear Equations
- Quadrilaterals and Polygons
- Critical Path
XAT 2015 General Awareness Syllabus
General Awareness section was introduced in the XAT exam last year only. It is one of the part in one of the two sections of the Paper 2 of XAT paper along with Essay Writing question. This section included 30 questions out of which 12 were based on current affairs and 18 were on GK. The topics asked in the previous year exams are based on the following:
- Awards and winners
- Government and Politics
- Famous Personalities
XAT 2015 Essay Writing Syllabus
There is no particular syllabus or topic that can be or is prescribed for Essay Writing but according to previous years analysis and trends, the topics were of abstract nature. The topic was either a common phrase or an idiom with a philosophical innuendo in it. However, the candidates appearing for XAT 2015 must be well prepared in all sorts of topics ranging from politics, sports, entertainment, philosophy etc. The time allotted to the students for attempting Essay Writing question is 20 minutes. Therefore, candidates must have writing habit with time boundations.
NOTE: There is no set defined pattern for XAT 2015 syllabus. The above mentioned topics are based on the basis of the past years trends and analysis. The questions in XAT 2015 are most likely to range among these areas. However, there is always chance for surprise in the management exams, so it will be wise to be prepared and select the questions carefully on the final Day and must prepare smartly by keeping always a back hand for the support.
