CENTRAL ARMED POLICE FORCES (CAPF) 2014 SYLLABUS FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT COMMANDANT (AC) is categorized in paper 1 and paper 2 of the written test. The written test may only consist of two papers which are General Ability & Intelligence and General Studies, Essay & Comprehension but the sub parts of these paper is very elaborate and descriptive as the sections become expanded. The syllabus of the exam is a very critical thing that candidate has to refer to as it outlines all the topics that are important and have been of important since the past years and on which the questions in the exam come. These competition exams have a very detailed syllabus in general therefore, it is always considered wise on candidates part if they have a structure and detailed copy of syllabus when they are beginning their exam preparation and also through out the preparation.
FOLLOWING IS THE DETAILED SYNOPSIS OF THE UPSC CAPF AC 2014 SYLLABUS:
A). GENERAL ABILITY & INTELLIGENCE SYLLABUS OF CAPF 2014 EXAM:
This section is the objective paper based where in the candidates will have multiple choices to one question and the candidates will have to choose the correct answer. This section is sub divided into two sections which are General Mental Ability and General Science. This section is designed in such a manner that it is able to test the candidates logical ability of solving the questions.
GENERAL MENTAL ABILITY: This section consist questions from logical reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude which includes numerical ability, Data Interpretation etc. This section will include the following topics:
- Alphabet Test
- Logical Sequence of Words
- Blood Relation
- Direction Sense Test
- Alpha-Numeric Sequence Test
- Number, Ranking and Time Sequence Test
- Mathematical Operations
- Data Sufficiency
QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE SYLLABUS WILL OUTLINE THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:
- Ratio and Proportion
- Problems on Ages
- Profit and Loss
- Time and Work
- Time and Distance
- Problems on Trains
- Alligation or Mixture
- Boats and Streams
- Simple Interest
- Compound Interest
- Volume and Surface Area
- Data Interpretation
GENERAL STUDY SYLLABUS WILL COVER THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:
This section is designed to test the candidates knowledge on current affairs related to different sectors. The candidates will have to have a thorough knowledge about various sectors as questions will be from various sectors and following are the topics that should be considered:
- Indian History
- Indian Polity
- Indian Economy
- General Science
- Bio Technology
- Environment Sciences
B). GENERAL STUDIES, ESSAY & COMPREHENSION SYLLABUS OF CAPF 2014 EXAM:
This section is a descriptive or conventional paper where the candidate will have to either write a essay on the topic given or precis writing depending on the question given in the exam. This section is conducted for 150 Marks.
Part-A will include the following topics:
The essay questions will be long and narrative either In Hindi or English which adds up to total of 80 Marks. The topics in this section could be related to modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle or pre- independent era, geography, politics and economy, Knowledge of security and human rights issues, and analytical ability.
Part-B will include the following topics:
Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – to be attempted in English only. The other topics are Comprehension Passages, précis writing, developing counter arguments, simple grammar and Other aspects of language testing.
